Lead Revenue Accountant/Settlements

Position Overview

Our Client is seeking a hands-on temporary Settlements Manager to support daily settlements and accounting operations during a key ETRM implementation. This individual will provide leadership across core settlement activities, month-end close, and reconciliations, allowing senior leadership to remain focused on the implementation effort. The ideal candidate can quickly step into an existing environment, operate independently, and ensure continuity across critical processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day settlements and accounting activities across power markets
  • Oversee reconciliations of ISO statements, charge codes, capacity, and ancillaries across PJM, ISO-NE, and NYISO
  • Review analysts' reconciliations, workbooks, and supporting schedules for accuracy and control compliance
  • Support month-end close through journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Quickly learn and execute existing workflows while maintaining operational stability
  • Identify process improvement opportunities where appropriate
  • Partner with trading, finance, accounting, and operations teams to support accurate settlements and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • CPA preferred; MBA or MAcc a plus
  • 7–10+ years of experience in settlements, revenue accounting, energy accounting, or power markets
  • ISO settlements experience (PJM, ISO-NE, NYISO) preferred
  • Strong accounting background with close, accrual, and reconciliation experience
  • ETRM exposure preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, workbook-driven datasets
  • Proven ability to operate independently in fast-paced, highly hands-on environments
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
