Position Description:
We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Practitioner to support the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based data, analytics, and AI platforms for enterprise clients. In this role, you will lead architecture decisions, guide cloud migrations, and help modernize legacy systems using AWS-native services. You will work closely with data engineers, AI/ML practitioners, architects, and client stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions. Within CGI's Data & AI practice, you will play a key role in designing, leading, and delivering cloud-native data and AI solutions for enterprise clients. You will provide technical leadership, contribute to solution architecture, and act as a trusted advisor to clients while mentoring junior team members.
This position is located in our Houston, Texas office with work performed at client site in Houston, Texas. You will be required to be onsite at the client 5 days/week.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Technical Leadership
. Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud architectures.
. Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including legacy platform transformation.
. Define best practices for cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and AI-enabled solutions.
. Implement and govern Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
. Perform architecture reviews, security assessments, and performance optimizations.
AI, Data & Advanced Analytics
. Design and support cloud platforms that enable advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning use cases.
. Lead the integration of AWS AI/ML services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, Athena, Glue, Redshift, and AI APIs.
. Guide teams on MLOps practices including model deployment, scaling, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
. Collaborate with data scientists and data engineers to operationalize AI solutions.
Consulting & Client Leadership
. Act as a technical lead and primary cloud advisor for client engagements.
. Translate business requirements into secure, scalable cloud and AI architectures.
. Lead technical workshops, design sessions, and architecture reviews with client stakeholders.
. Contribute to estimates, solution proposals, and pre-sales activities.
. Mentor and coach consultants and junior engineers, supporting their technical and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
. 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering AWS cloud solutions in complex environments.
. Strong expertise across AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS/Aurora, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and networking.
. Proven experience leading cloud migration, modernization, or large-scale platform initiatives.
. Proficiency in Python and/or other scripting languages.
. Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance best practices.
. Experience working in consulting or client-facing delivery roles.
. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
. AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
. Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, ECS, EKS).
. Strong background in data platforms, analytics, or AI/ML workloads on AWS.
. Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise cloud governance models.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,800.00 - $245,500.00.
