Why This Role Exists
This role exists to support continued production demand for precision temperature measurement instrumentation.
At SynTemp, this machinist plays a key role in producing small to medium-sized components used in instrumentation systems, with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality—especially across stainless steels and high-performance alloys.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills for precision machining
Write and edit G-code at the machine
Perform simple programming and program adjustments
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
Select tooling, set offsets, and verify workholding
Run small-to-medium part production with high attention to detail
Perform first-article and in-process inspection
Use calipers, bore gauges, and other tools to verify part quality
Monitor machine performance and adjust feeds/speeds as needed
Perform basic machine maintenance and upkeep
Troubleshoot machining and production issues with the team
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

What We're Looking ForRequired:
5+ years of CNC machining experience
Strong experience with both CNC lathes and mills
Ability to write and modify G-code
Experience with Fanuc controls
Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
Strong inspection skills using standard measurement tools
Solid understanding of setups, tooling, and offsets
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High attention to detail and quality
Preferred (Not Required):
Experience with gun drilling
Experience with Mitsubishi Meldas controls
Machine repair or maintenance experience
Forklift experience
