Job Title: Operations Manager

Job Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a team or group of teams within a single facility or function. This role ensures compliance with established policies and procedures, participates in interpreting and implementing organizational policies, and prepares related reports to monitor operational efficiency. The objective is to deliver superior products of high quality and low cost while fostering the growth, development, and training of our Partners, and achieving superior service levels.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

People Management:

  • Provide coaching, training, and development for both exempt and non-exempt team members.
  • Administer Partner Certification programs.
  • Identify and remain actively involved in critical situations, providing updates to the appropriate Leader and taking necessary actions.
  • Monitor established practices to ensure compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, guidelines, and governance.
  • Communicate tactical and strategic plans/initiatives to Partners, gaining their support and commitment.
  • Provide input to Operations Leader on staffing levels and gain commitment from the team.
  • Ensure Partner compliance with the Plant Safety Program.
  • Identify and develop Team Coordinators.
  • Become personally involved in each Partner injury case.
  • Initiate job requisitions, source, and interview candidates.
  • Routinely offer performance feedback and administer H-E-B Performance Management Appraisals as required.

Quality Management:

  • Establish and maintain quality procedures and approve work instructions.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the 6-S certification program.

Service Management:

  • Perform demand forecasting, monitor inventories, and determine production schedules to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Provide weekly summaries of Plant results to the Leadership Team.

Profit Management:

  • Coordinate the efforts of Team Leaders to meet plant goals.
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve specific goals and objectives.
  • Provide the Plant Leader with daily recaps of plant results.
  • Make staffing level recommendations to the Plant Leader.
  • Define and maintain appropriate skill sets for each team.
  • Develop Plant production schedules.
  • Review profit Key Results Indicators (KRI) with Team Leaders.
  • Actively participate in the Hoshin objectives.

Qualifications & Key Requirements:

Work Experience:

  • Experience in a related industry.
  • High-performance Work Team experience.
  • Leadership training.
  • Experience as a Team Leader.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement initiatives.
  • Attendance and completion of company-sponsored training and development classes.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong multi-tasking and attention to detail skills.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Basic knowledge and compliance in related areas: industry, EEOC, and Employment Laws.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with operating internal and external software systems at an advanced level, including creating spreadsheets, graphs, charts, and preparing presentations.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reports respective to one functional area.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
  • Requires 3-5 years of Experience (3 years related industry experience).

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Travel by car or airplane with overnight stays.
  • Work extended hours.
  • Work rotating schedules.
  • Ambient temperatures range from -20°F to 100+°F; most often they are 65-85°F.
