Lead Security Officer

Under general supervision, leads work of assigned security officers and performs regular security officer duties for assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Performs security officer duties and leads work of assigned security officers.
• Patrols assigned areas to check for criminal activity, rule violations, and irregularities.
• Investigates and reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to campus police unit as needed.
• Coordinates and monitors work activities of field Security Officers at particular locations.
• Monitors shift activity and makes recommendations for adjustments in shift assignments as needed.
• Trains new security officers or other personnel and provides on?going work leadership.
• Performs other job?related duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years directly job related experience.
• Must have a valid Texas Drivers License.
• Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and simple mathematical functions.
• Daily computer use required; must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Must pass a Criminal History Check and valid TX Drivers License check prior to an interview.
• Must pass Background Investigation prior to employment and pre?employment drug screening.
• UHPD requires all applicants to complete the criminal history fields on their application. Applicants with incomplete criminal history fields will not be considered.

• Last 4 digits of SSN
