Senior Hydraulic Pipeline Engineer

Job Description:

  • Perform pipeline engineering tasks including calculations, pipeline hydraulics, and flow assurance support.
  • Execute hydraulic and flow assurance studies for single-phase (gas or liquid) and multiphase fluids (gas, oil, water) in steady-state and transient conditions.
  • Design pumping and compression systems, control systems, surge relief systems, and blowdown systems.
  • Conduct hydraulic modeling using Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS), OLGA, PipeSim, Gregg Engineering, and Hysys software.
  • Prepare specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, and bid evaluations.
  • Review vendor-provided data, documentation, and drawings.
  • pply standard pipeline engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, making adaptations and modifications as necessary.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines, particularly mechanical, for pumps and compressors selection, configuration, and sizing.
  • Provide technical assistance to other pipeline personnel and interact with project teams, customers, and regulatory agencies to resolve complex regulatory issues.
  • ssist project and construction management in identifying and complying with pipeline requirements and addressing issues during project execution.
  • Ensure engineering work, including flow assurance and hydraulics, complies with client work processes, project-specific procedures, and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure pipeline design meets industry best practices, relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Prepare or assist in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or bid proposals.

Skills:
  • Strong understanding of industry and regulatory codes, best practices, and design criteria for pipeline engineering.
  • Knowledge of ASME, API, AWWA, ASTM, and Client codes and product specifications.
  • Specific expertise in ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, and CFR.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for collaborating with project teams.
  • Strong written skills for preparing reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
Qualification And Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on pipeline hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and numerical methods.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant pipeline engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Texas or another state is preferred.
