Role Summary

The Senior Project Manager is the commercial and execution owner for a portfolio of electrical construction projects, or for large, complex individual projects. This role is directly accountable for margin performance, forecast accuracy, cash flow, change management, and risk mitigation, and sets the standard for disciplined, repeatable project delivery across the company.

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for outcomes.

Core Accountability

The Senior Project Manager is directly accountable for:

  • Project P&L performance, margin protection, and recovery
  • Forecast accuracy and cost-to-complete discipline
  • Billing execution, WIP accuracy, and cash flow timing
  • Scope defense, change management, and commercial position
  • Risk identification, mitigation, escalation, and recovery

Execution Responsibilities
  • Lead execution of multiple concurrent projects, or large complex projects, with full ownership of margin, schedule, productivity, and cash
  • Implement and maintain disciplined project controls, including forecasting, schedules, variance analysis, and recovery planning
  • Develop and execute recovery plans when performance deviates from plan
  • Lead the estimating-to-operations handover and validate estimate assumptions during execution
  • Coordinate long?lead equipment, subcontractors, OEMs, and internal resources
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting of job cost, productivity, and financial performance
  • Close projects cleanly, protecting final margin and contractual position

Leadership & Standards
  • Exercise authority over staffing, execution cadence, and performance expectations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers
  • Set the standard for disciplined delivery, documentation, and accountability
  • Model STRIVE values with safety and quality as non?negotiable
  • Escalate risks early with clear facts and mitigation plans

Experience & Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following qualification paths:

Track A Degree Path
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of progressive Project Management experience with direct P&L ownership

Track B Experience Path
  • 10+ years of progressive project leadership experience with documented ownership of margin, cash flow, forecasting, and recovery on complex electrical construction projects

Required Experience & Qualifications (Regardless of Track)
  • Managing multiple concurrent projects in a self?perform electrical environment
  • Ownership of cost?to?complete forecasting and financial predictability (WIP, billing, and cash)
  • Change management and scope defense experience
  • Understanding of EPC vs BOP scopes
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and long?lead equipment and materials
  • Identify waste/inefficiencies and drive corrective actions tied to customer deliverables
  • Lead core project meetings and review (e.g. kick off, status/progress, cost/schedule performance reviews, closeout, and lessons learned)
  • General knowledge of general accounting principles
  • General knowledge of estimating fundamentals
  • Strong customer?facing communication; proactive, direct, and professional
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams

Professional Discipline
  • Formal project management training or certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred
  • Candidates without certification must demonstrate consistent use of disciplined project controls, forecasting, and commercial management in prior roles

Working Conditions
  • Combination of office and field environments
  • Ability to work extended hours as required by project demands
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and work safely in active construction environments

Employment Conditions

  • May be required to work nights, weekends, or holidays
