As a Systems Controller I, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the real-time operation of compressor stations, pipeline facilities, measuring and regulating stations, and other facilities to optimally receive and deliver varying volumes of gas for various pipeline customers.

Here's what you will do:
Participate in the development of and is responsible for the implementation of the daily planned activities on the pipeline.
Optimize pipeline system through efficient use of horsepower and pipeline facilities.
Effectively and proactively relay changes occurring on the pipeline to appropriate field personnel, teammates, and gas control management.
Coordinate activities between field and gas control personnel on any planned or unplanned outage of pipeline facilities.
Communicate with field and gas control management regarding any issues that might arise during pipeline outages.
Utilize the SCADA System to monitor pressures, pack levels, engine and horsepower data, flow data, alarms, gas quality, and other operational data to enhance decisions.
Utilize SCADA Systems to operate Houston-controlled compressor stations, regulators, meter flow and pressure set points, RCVs and ROVs to ensure timely flow and pressure requirements.
Limit pipelines to the maximum operating pressure at all times.
Responsible for front-line response to an emergency or abnormal condition in a manner that is consistent with Enbridge's Standard Operating Procedures.
Utilize web-based applications to administer daily objectives and activities in a proactive manner that compliments system pressure and flow requirements.
Apprise management of situations of concern, such as sudden increases or decreases in demand or loss of compression, to enhance their ability to make timely and cost-efficient decisions.
Perform work in compliance with Company policies and procedures as well as certain regulatory bodies, such as the Department of Transportation (DOT), Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
Interface in a professional manner with internal and external customers through verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Who you are:
You have:
Related technical diploma and minimal direct work experience in natural gas transmission or gathering systems.
In lieu of a technical diploma, an additional 2+ years of related experience is required.
Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills within a team environment.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Effective negotiation skills for interfacing with internal and external customers.

A Team player. Each shift consists of 6 to 7 controllers, and all should be working together to form a team that communicates and assists one another through shared knowledge gained from valuable work experience.
Working Conditions:
Work performed in typical office environment.
Occasional travel.
Dynamic, high-pressure work environment requiring the identification and resolution of critical operational problems within extremely short time constraints.
Must live within 40 miles as indicated through Bing mapping platform to meet PHMSA's expectations of continuous hours of rest.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk and be able to drive a vehicle. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
