Sourcing Analytical Intern

Role Description:

USG Strategic Sourcing is responsible for the procurement of raw materials and goods & services that contribute to the manufacturing of our products. Within the Sourcing group, the Procurement Excellence team strives to equip the Sourcing group with the policies, procedures, tools, and assistance needed to accomplish their strategic goals.

The Sourcing Analytical Intern will work within the Procurement Excellence team to support procurement initiatives and provide crucial insights. The primary objective of the internship will be to support cost savings and efficiency opportunities through data and process improvement. Your activities may include:
• Reviewing purchase data to categorize spending, identify top suppliers and commodity categories, analyze trends overtime, etc.
• Validating sourcing reports and providing feedback.
• Running data analysis to identify reporting and efficiency opportunities to create and expand KPI metric development.
• Executing procurement excellence operations using USG's Oracle ERP system, reporting tools, and other job-related solutions.
• Creating and updating procurement manuals, purchasing policies, or training documentation.
• Working closely with Sourcing Process Intern on process corrections through data.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in a degree program at a recognized university in Supply Chain or related disciplines.
• Ability to work in a high pace environment.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• PowerBI, Tableau, or other reporting experience is welcomed.

This is in-person position: Monday - Thursday in the office; Fridays - work from home.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
