Job Description

A growing real estate developer is seeking a Development Manager to lead the execution of commercial and mixeduse projects across the Greater Houston area. This is a role for someone who thrives in the field, in the details, and in the driver's seat-taking projects from early feasibility through design, permitting, infrastructure, construction, and successful turnover. You'll be the engine behind multiple groundup and redevelopment projects-guiding the full lifecycle with precision, ownership, and a bias toward action. You will:

• Oversee design, engineering, permitting, and construction from concept to completion
• Build and manage realistic schedules, budgets, and approval pathways
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to keep work moving
• Review technical reports (civil, environmental, traffic, geotech, surveys) and turn insights into decisions
• Navigate municipal processes, utility districts, and publicinfrastructure reimbursement mechanisms
• Lead progress updates and reporting for internal stakeholders, lenders, and partners
• Ensure projects transition smoothly to operations and longterm management
• Solve problems early, communicate clearly, and keep the team aligned

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant has:

• 5+ years of handson real estate development experience
• Bachelors in relevant engineering field (e.g. Civil Engineering), Construction Management or architecture -- this is a job for someone who likes to build things !
• Demonstrated success delivering groundup commercial, industrial, retail, or mixeduse projects
• Familiarity with Houstonarea permitting and infrastructure processes is highly valuable
• Proficiency in development tools (Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Excel, scheduling software)
