This role requires good negotiation skills, a deep understanding of purchasing, and the ability to effectively manage supplier relationships. The Purchasing Clerk will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order completion.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support.
  • Utilize company systems for tracking orders, managing inventory, and reporting.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular assessments to ensure quality standards.
  • Coordinate with logistics for the timely delivery of materials and supplies.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing strategies to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Lead initiatives to fabricate cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality.

Requirements

  • Diploma/ Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or a related field.
  • Proven experience in purchase or supply chain management or a similar role.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends and pricing structures.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of logistics processes related to procurement is a plus.
