What We Want
The Program Director, under general direction, leads and manages the administration of the Disaster Resilience Information & Partnership (DRIP) program, a collaboration with Texas communities experiencing chronic and acute flooding events. The program increases local, under-resourced communities' access, understanding, and utilization of data and visualizations to support informed decision-making, secure mitigation funding, and reduce future losses. Key responsibilities include planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities. DRIP is a program of the Texas A&M University Institute for a Disaster Resilient Texas (IDRT).

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ten years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong public speaking, organizational, leadership, and supervisory skills.
Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
Spanish-language proficiency.
Experience with disaster mitigation efforts, and/or emergency management planning and/or emergency response processes.
Experience visualizing and communicating complex information or data for a broad audience.
Demonstrated project management expertise.
Demonstrated community engagement experience, including the organization and leadership of public forums and meetings; survey development and execution; and the development and facilitation of focus groups, interviews, and community relationship-building strategies.
Responsibilities
Program Management and Leadership- Develops and oversees program development, including strategic planning, goal setting, policy and procedure formulation, and material creation. Ensures program objectives are met. Directs, supervises, and mentors program staff. Develops and evaluates program procedures and performance reports. Develops and maintains key partnership relationships with other units within Texas A&M University as well as other key external partners.
Budget and Resource Management- Identifies and secures program funding and expansion resources. Develops, oversees, and approves program budgets. Analyzes program data for reporting, progress tracking, and program adjustments. Oversees the performance of subcontractors and consultants, as applicable.
Outreach and Communication- Develops and executes advanced community engagement strategies for the DRIP program, encompassing participant selection criteria, outreach and recruitment initiatives, and the leadership of field activities, including community engagement meeting design and facilitation. Represents the DRIP program and IDRT at key external events, conferences, lectures, and meetings with state agencies and strategic partners, requiring travel as needed. Produces or reviews content for IDRT's website, blog, and other communication channels. Contributes to the development of communication products such as videos or public-facing materials.
Program Monitoring and Reporting- Manages program activity records and oversees the timely preparation, review, and distribution of comprehensive program reports, progress updates, meeting summaries, findings, and other required documentation for funders, stakeholders, and leadership.

This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures.
All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements.
This position may require up to 30% or more travel.
This position may require travel (including driving vehicles or flying in airplanes) for community engagement and external representation activities.
This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
This position allows alternate work location per TAMU guidelines.
This position may direct and/or evaluate the work of others.
This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
