The Access Control Technician Lead will be responsible for working solo or leading other technicians and installers in project-based access control installations. They will play a critical role in being the technical lead in all aspects of access control and working independently or with assistance from remote engineering team to overcome the project challenges. They will provide support and direction to the installers based on the project specifications and requirements of the access control system and jobsite. As the Access Control Lead, you will play a crucial role in supporting the overall success of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the access control system installation to ensure optimal functionality and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to access control systems in a timely manner.
• Provide project-based technical support and training to end-users on the access control system.
• Maintain accurate documentation of access control configurations, shop drawings, changes, and incidents.
• Integrate systems with alarms, fire systems, elevator systems, and security networks.
• Provide technical leadership to the installation team.
• Work safely and responsibly to avoid injury/property damage, while maintaining a clean work area
• Terminate door hardware, card readers, and security components as required.
• Install and terminate access control panels and power supplies as required.
• Oversee and validate other technicians' installations.
• Program access control server(s), access control panel(s), card readers, and security components to provide a fully functioning system.
• Work with the owner's IT department to ensure correct network configurations and compliance with the access control system.
• Adhere to the contracted scope of work and work with the Site Superintendent and/or Project Manager to identify out of scope work.
• Attend any job site required meetings.
• Provide feedback to Site Superintendent and/or Project Manager on installation progress, lead-times, and work to complete.

• 4+ years hands-on experience with Access Control (required), CCTV/VSS (preferred), and Intrusion Systems (preferred).
• High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (or willingness and ability to obtain)
• Software programming knowledge.
• Knowledge of IP networking, AC/DC electronics, and security infrastructure.
• Ability to read blueprints, terminate cables, and work independently.
• Strong customer service skills and a valid driver's license required.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA)
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle changing priorities and work well under pressure whilst presenting a positive image.
• Have a high-level knowledge of electronic/electric circuitry.
• Must be willing and able to work in a variety of environments such as new construction including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working around mechanical equipment, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiate types/colors of wire, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Certifications and/or experience with Brivo, Verkada, Lenel, S2, Amag, Software House, or similar are a plus.
