Job duties include, but are not limited to:

As a vital member of our team, you will maintain the welcoming ambiance of our hospital reception area while greeting and assisting clients and their beloved pets. You will triage client concerns, respond to inquiries via calls and emails, and direct them to the appropriate team members for resolution. Scheduling appointments will be a key duty to enhance our efficiency, and you will also check in and check out clients while handling payment processing. Your compassionate support during critical times will be essential, and you will need to be prepared for a variety of medical outcomes.

Please note that this role requires the ability to manage unpleasant odors and sounds, and may involve exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potential health risks.

Qualifications:
We are looking for:

  • Experienced Receptionist with at least 1 year of veterinary experience preferred
  • Compassionate, calm, and effective team player
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Self-motivated individual eager to expand knowledge and skills

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
+ Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for extended periods.
+ Confidence around a variety of animals including dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles (please confirm specific species treated with our leadership team).
+ Client needs may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week; flexibility for weekends, evenings, and holidays may be necessary.
+ Required mental agility for reasoning, memory, mathematical understanding, and language skills (reading, writing, and speaking in English).
+ The work environment is moderately loud; ear plugs are available.
+ Sufficient physical ability to perform necessary tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
+ Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are crucial for operating equipment and performing daily duties.
+ Specific visual abilities needed for close and distant vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
+ Expect routine exposure to animals that may exhibit unpredictable behaviors, anesthesia, radiation, biological or zoonotic hazards, or controlled substances.
