Join Oshkosh Aerotech as a Purchasing Agent, responsible for procuring materials, supplies, and services required to support warehouse and operational activities at the IAH Airport location. This role ensures timely, cost-effective purchasing while maintaining compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and quality standards.

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Procure materials, equipment, and services in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures

  • Issue purchase orders and track order status to ensure on-time delivery

  • Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and order discrepancies

  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation in ERP and inventory systems

  • Coordinate with warehouse, operations, and finance teams to support material requirements

  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with demand planning as needed

  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and work with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payment

  • Support supplier performance and maintain professional vendor relationships

  • Comply with all Oshkosh Corporation safety, quality, and ethical standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • 3 years of purchasing or procurement experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance.

  • Availability to work day or night?shift including weekends and holidays.

PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, or airport operations.

  • Familiarity with ERP or purchasing systems.

  • Knowledge of inventory control and supply chain processes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of the Purchasing Agent, employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or fell objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
