The primary purpose of the Medical Assistant (MA) position is to act as clinical assistant in preparing patients for medical visits and procedures. The MA is accountable and responsible for providing quality, patient care through the appropriate use of resources in collaboration with the clinical nurse and other inter-professional team members. Acts as a patient and family advocate, to uphold patient rights. Key Functions. The Outpatient MA must possess the following abilities and/or characteristics: Ability to assist with multiple clinic operational activities, while in collaboration with clinical nurse, breast medical oncologist, breast surgeons, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), residents, and other multidisciplinary team members.
