Equality Florida is the state's largest civil rights organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community. We're changing Florida through lobbying, grassroots organizing, education, and coalition building - so that no one suffers harassment or discrimination on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.
Since our founding in 1997, we've become one of the largest statewide LGBTQ groups in the country with more than 400,000 supporters, more than 15,000 volunteers, and staff located in major Florida cities to organize and support our work.
Framework and Position Summary:
Equality Florida consistently leads efforts to advance LGBTQ+ equality across Florida. Based on both vision and need, we are hiring two Development Event Fellows to help support our critical work during a time of unprecedented legislative attacks on LGBTQ+ Floridians.
Our Development team plays a vital role in sustaining and expanding our capacity to fight for LGBTQ+ rights through strategic fundraising, community engagement, and events. Our signature Galas bring together donors, advocates, and allies to celebrate progress and fuel the movement forward.
Under the direction of the Statewide Events Manager, our Development Event Fellows will focus on supporting initiatives that advance equality and combat discrimination. Through our collective programs, we fight discrimination by empowering vulnerable populations while challenging interwoven systems of oppression. Our power lies in the ability to affect large-scale, systemic change across communities and throughout Florida.
