Job Description
PURPOSE: The Field Service Engineer which is part of the Customer Technical Services (CTS) group is the primary technical contact representing Amcor to assist customers in filling lines and applications. The Field Service Engineer works with customer plant personnel on new product launches and routine service visits. These visits are intended to support Amcor products and address performance issues with equipment. This is a position with a good blend of technical hands-on and office work.

• Education Required: Associates/Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
• Travel Requirements: 40-44 weeks a year 3-4 days a week.
Responsibilities
• Amcor representative at customer. Maintaining Amcor-owned equipment and conducting periodic preventative maintenance while maintaining a trusted relationship with the customer.
• Lead in the assembly and preventative maintenance of Amcor-owned filling equipment.
• Assist with customer problems and the generation of adequate information to communicate opportunities to the plant/corporate level.
• Support & lead field trials of Amcor packaging.
• Responsible for training of customer's employees on proper product use.
• Responsible for validating package performance at the customer's site.
• Communicate with outside vendors on quotes, design, and scheduling of related projects
• Perform necessary follow-up actions to ensure customer satisfaction
Qualifications
• A degree in the area of Manufacturing or Engineering is preferred
• Five to seven years of combined education or related work experience is preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are required.
• Motivated, self-starter, with a willingness to grow and learn new skills.
• A general working knowledge of machine control systems. (Electrical systems, PLC's, HMI's)
• Prior mechanical experience with filling lines and equipment is preferred
• Experience in the plastics industry is desired
• Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/Power Point)
• Confident, motivated and the ability to work independently with customers, manufacturing plants and corporate groups while possessing data driven problem solving skills using proven and recognizable techniques
