Banking And Finance Legal Assistant

LHH is helping a large Texas law firm seek a Legal Assistant to support their Banking and Finance team in their Houston/Galleria office. Transactional legal experience is required and Banking and Finance experience is strongly preferred.

Benefits:

• Salary ranges from $65,000 - $90,000 DOE
• Parking is paid for by the firm
• Discretionary year-end bonus based on tenure
• Employee-only Premiums for Medical Insurance is fully paid for by the firm

Position Overview:

• Supports Banking and Finance Team
• Focused on administrative legal support with a heavy emphasis on:
• Billing
• Transactional document handling
• IT-related coordination within the finance group
• Will directly support 4 attorneys

Candidate Profile:

• Transactional legal experience is required
• Banking and Finance experience is strongly preferred
• Strong administrative skills, including:
• Billing systems
• Document management
• Multi-attorney support
• Professional, team-oriented, and able to support both individual assignments and firmwide requests

Team & Structure:

• Will directly support 4 individuals
• Works within a pod system:
• Assigned to a primary group of attorneys
• Also supports other attorneys firmwide through a ticketing system (ARC) for overflow tasks
• Current open roles due to:
• Internal promotion into a paralegal position (growth opportunity)

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years of on-the-job experience necessary to perform complex administrative duties in a professional setting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of legal billing software (preferably Aderant)
• Ability to type at a level of 70 WPM
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail with superior proofreading abilities
• Working knowledge of creating and editing legal documents
• Strong understanding of the county and state court systems
• Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organize and maintain correspondence, document, and computer-based files
• Provide telephone coverage for team, deliver messages
• Teleconferencing and arranging conference calls
• Arranges appointments, coordinate meetings, makes travel arrangements (including flight/hotel reservations), and submits reimbursement requests
• Perform various support services (e.g., courier deliveries, document processing center assistance, conference room reservations)
• Work with a variety of assigned attorneys and practice group areas as needed
• Work on complex organizational charts
• Draft legal documents
• Assist with the preparation of private offering documents
• Arrange attendance for CLE course and keep track of attorney CLE hours
• Review, correct, and disburse pre-bills and invoices
