A leading heavy civil contractor in Houston is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations on TxDOT roadway, highway, and civil infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader with strong experience in earthwork, utilities, paving, and DOT‑standard construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations on roadway, highway, and TxDOT projects
• Supervise crews performing earthwork, utilities, asphalt paving, and concrete paving
• Support bridge‑adjacent scopes such as approaches, embankments, drainage, and structural prep
• Maintain safety, quality, and production targets across all field activities
• Interpret civil plans, TxDOT specifications, and project drawings
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and communication with engineers and owners

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil field experience
• Strong background in roadway/highway construction, TxDOT standards, and civil sitework
• Experience with earthwork, utilities, paving, and GPS‑guided grading
• Ability to supervise crews and maintain schedule milestones
• OSHA certifications preferred
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, GPS systems, or similar tools
