Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Spring, TX seeks an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired to provide specialized support to students across the district. This contract role, lasting through the current school year, involves delivering itinerant services to a diverse caseload, ensuring that visually impaired students receive tailored instruction and accommodations to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and support to visually impaired students across multiple campuses within the district
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to develop and implement effective educational plans
  • Conduct specialized assessments to determine students needs and monitor progress
  • Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to facilitate access to the general curriculum
  • Provide training and resources to staff and families regarding visual impairments and instructional strategies
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and state policies related to specialized services

Qualifications:

  • Valid Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) educator license is required
  • Experience working with visually impaired K-12 students in an itinerant or consultative capacity
  • Strong knowledge of visual impairment-related instructional strategies and assistive technology
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage a districtwide caseload effectively and work on-site
