Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will notbe considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support an 8th-grade student in a behavioral classroom setting at a middle school located in Cypress, TX. This role involves providing ASL interpreting services during instructional times, averaging 6.5 hours per day, while excluding lunch, arrival, and dismissal periods. The student utilizes cochlear implants, hearing aids, and an assistive listening device (ALD), and requires clear communication support due to an unintelligible voice. This position spans the remainder of the current school year and extends through summer to cover compensatory services, with potential continuation into the next academic year.
