Shipping Specialist

Huntsman is seeking a Shipping Specialist supporting the Performance Products Division located in Conroe, Texas. This position will report to the Shipping Manager.

Job Scope

This role provides day-to-dayoperational support and supervision within the Conroe Shipping Department. The position ensures compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements while supporting shipping, material handling, and logistics activities to meet operational and business needs.

In summary, as the Shipping Specialist, you will:

Assist in ensuring shipping personnel safely and efficiently perform drumming, toting, blending, and shipping activities in compliance with EHS and DOT requirements and shipment schedules.

Support planning and coordination of trailer and railcar movements for transfers, shipments, and raw material loading activities, including communication with internal stakeholders such as Huntsman Business Centers, Traffic, Production Planning, and operating units.

Participate in quality events and incident investigations, including root cause analysis, development of preventive actions, and implementation of corrective measures to support continuous improvement.

Support identification of maintenance and equipment improvement needs and coordinate with Shipping OMC to ensure equipment readiness and compliance with maintenance, inspection, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Assist with SAP transactions, railcar movement and status tracking, order shipment status, and record maintenance to ensure compliance with DOT, PSM, and ISO 9001 requirements.

Provide backfill support for the Shipping Unit Manager or JIT/OMC roles for shipping-related duties, as required.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervision, assist team members in achieving company goals, participate in required training programs, and actively support Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education required
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience required
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Skills and knowledge

• Proficiency with internet-based tools, email, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of shipping, material handling, and logistics processes.
• Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively, both verbally and in writing, while maintaining effective working relationships.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and operational demands.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous shipping experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment.
• SAP experience.

Working Environment

• This position is based in a manufacturing and shipping environment and involves routine interaction with material handling equipment, railcars, trailers, and operational personnel. The role requires adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety, DOT, PSM, ISO, and company policy requirements.
