Position Overview:

Join our team as a 100 Ton Vessel Captain and take on a rewarding role where you'll ensure the safety of our crew, passengers, and vessel. This position requires a commitment to a 14/7 liveaboard schedule, with a readiness to travel when necessary. As Captain, you will oversee all operations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the vessel's safety and operational condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Pre and Post Departure checks.
  • Safely navigate and maneuver the vessel.
  • Train and supervise crew members.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot diesel engines and generators.
  • Conduct risk assessments prior to work.
  • Maintain accurate vessel logs, including Passenger logs, Maintenance logs, and Pre/Post departure checklist logs.
  • Oversee basic maintenance of the vessel, engine, and generator.
  • Direct loading/offloading operations and rigging activities.
  • Execute emergency response actions, including firefighting and abandon ship protocols.
  • Operate and maintain familiarity with jet drive and quad engine propulsion systems.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  • Current Driver's License.
  • Valid Transportation Worker ID Card (TWIC).
  • 100 Ton USCG Near-Coastal Master's License (minimum).
  • USCG Approved First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • FCC Marine Radio Operator's Permit (preferred).
  • Valid USCG Medical Certificate.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Hazard Awareness Training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Capability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Operate motor vehicles.
  • Wear necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Work around moving machinery and perform under stress.
  • Work effectively in various weather conditions.
  • Multitask and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work at heights and in noisy environments.
  • Collaborate with others in a professional manner.

Working Conditions:

  • Work near others, both indoors and outdoors, day and night.
  • Exposure to moving equipment, high humidity, and noise levels exceeding 85 decibels.
  • Potential exposure to open fire, airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
  • Work conditions may include both inside and outside environments with potential weather exposure and various physical hazards.
