WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Vice President, Carrier Management drives Relation's national market strategy, working directly with senior leaders at strategic carrier partners and collaborating with leadership across the company. The individual in this role influences partner selection and strategy; negotiates partnership frameworks, service commitments, and performance objectives; and orchestrates joint growth plans that improve outcomes for clients. The Vice President, Carrier Management develops data-driven insights on placement performance and partnership economics, using scenario analysis to inform program design, preferred terms, and sustainable revenue strategies while upholding transparency and compliance standards. The Vice President also incubates carrier-specific initiatives such as exclusive programs, alternative risk structures, and other differentiated products to support new business growth and client retention, serving as a visible leader representing Relation in the marketplace.

A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR DAY

  • Leads and mentors the Carrier Migration Team to ensure excellence with the timely delivery of carrier migrations, carrier management and end user satisfaction.
  • Develops and leads the national carrier strategy to ensure the right partnerships, terms, and alignment that drive the best outcomes for clients.
  • Cultivates and deepens executive carrier relationships with senior leaders to foster trust, collaboration, and long-term alignment.
  • Provides resources and support to regional leadership to strengthen local carrier relationships consistent with national strategy.
  • Negotiates and influences strategic agreements to secure strong frameworks, financial structures, and service commitments.
  • Supports M&A integration by leveraging market relationships to deliver enhanced access, consistent terms, and a seamless client experience.
  • Drives collaborative growth initiatives with carriers, including innovative programs, exclusive products, and alternative risk solutions.
  • Delivers data-driven insights using analytics and scenario modeling to evaluate economics, identify opportunities, and guide strategy.
  • Equips producers and service teams with tools, training, and communication to effectively leverage carrier relationships.
  • Maintains governance, compliance, and accountability to ensure agreements meet regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Scans the market for innovation and competitive insight to introduce new ideas and partnerships that enhance Relation's position.
  • Performs other projects, duties, and tasks, as assigned.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in carrier management, insurance operations or a related field.
  • Deep insurance market expertise with an understanding of carrier economics, distribution strategies, and multi-line placement dynamics.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage complex contracts, agreements, and compliance requirements.
  • Analytical and data-driven thinker skilled at modeling financial scenarios, evaluating partnership economics, and turning insights into strategy.
  • Effective negotiator and communicator who can structure agreements, present recommendations, and align stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaborative leader who supports regional executives, producers, and service teams to align local actions with national strategy.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams and complex projects.
  • Project management skills, including proficiency with tools such as Monday.com to manage priorities and drive execution.
  • Innovative mindset with curiosity about market trends, alternative risk solutions, and new product opportunities.

At Relation, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
