Job Summary:

The Claims Director will be responsible for performance outcomes across designated claim-related functions. You will be responsible for the overall company's claims results, including claim file accuracy, claims operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, this position will be expected to contribute at an enterprise level to optimize the company's growth and success.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the claims department
  • Analyzes complex claims data to identify trends impacting service, efficiency, and accuracy
  • Prepares and presents complex information to the claim's organization, carrier partners, and senior leadership
  • Provides guidance on the most complex or high-exposure claims to ensure accurate and timely resolutions
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Prior people management experience, specifically with hiring, training, supervision, coaching, mentoring and developing top talent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Public speaking (voice projection, body language), visual storytelling, active listening, and the ability to work under tight, high-pressure deadlines.
  • Ability to establish rapport, credibility, trust, and positive relationships with direct reports, including those working remotely.
  • Ability to effectively plan and prioritize work activities.
  • Ability to work with standard office technology, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to provide an environment that encourages and develops new ideas from employees and peers.
  • Property claims experience to include:
    • Significant leadership experience in property claims
    • Overall claim investigation
    • Complex coverage assessment
    • Water mitigation
    • Dwelling repair management
    • Construction knowledge and estimating experience
    • Personal property evaluation
    • ALE management
Required Education and Experience:
  • At least five years of related claims experience required.
  • At least five years supervisory experience, managing multiple claim teams with at least two direct reports.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Current California Adjusters License.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Limited travel is required.


Salary: Starting at $165,000 annually. Candidate's skills, experience and abilities will be taken into consideration for final offer.
