Location: Tysons Corner, VA (Hybrid - 3 Days in Office)


About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join our team in support of a large-scale federal program. The Enterprise Architect will provide strategic technical leadership, ensuring that business goals, mission needs, and technology solutions are aligned to deliver long-term value. This role involves defining enterprise-level architectures, driving modernization efforts, and guiding implementation of emerging technologies across complex IT environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, and maintain enterprise architecture strategies, frameworks, standards, and roadmaps.
  • Design and oversee modern, cloud-native, microservices, low-code/No-code platform, and API-first architectures to support digital transformation and interoperability with federal systems and partners.
  • Lead architecture assessments, gap analyses, and design sessions to recommend optimized solutions.
  • Ensure interoperability, scalability, and security of systems across business units.
  • Provide governance and oversight of solution design, technology selection, and system integration.
  • Develop artifacts such as architecture diagrams, technical models, reference architectures, and standards documentation.
  • Champion the adoption of emerging technologies, such as AI/ML, Generative AI, and Intelligent Automation (RPA), to modernize legacy environments, enhance mission outcomes, and enable data-driven decision-making across large federal programs.
  • Conduct proofs-of-concept and pilots for new technologies (e.g., GenAI copilots, AI-driven analytics), assess technical feasibility, and provide recommendations for enterprise adoption.
  • Collaborate with business and IT leaders to identify automation opportunities and implement legacy modernization, workflow orchestration, and intelligent process automation solutions using AI and Low-code/no-code platforms.
  • Support modernization initiatives including cloud migration, data strategy, cybersecurity, and enterprise application integration.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise or solution architecture, with at least 5 years leading large-scale modernization or AI/Automation initiatives in federal environments.
  • Proven experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, FEAF, Zachman, DoDAF).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises hybrid integration.
  • Expertise in systems design, application integration, data management, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience developing architectural artifacts for federal or large-scale enterprise systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate innovation into actionable architecture roadmaps and communicate complex concepts to executive, technical, and mission audiences.

Preferred:
  • Master's degree in information technology or related discipline.
  • Enterprise Architect certification (TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience with zero-trust architectures, microservices, APIs, and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Experience designing AI-enabled architectures leveraging cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and federated or on-premises model deployment frameworks.
