Position Details

Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job

Responsibilities include establishing a vigorous, externally funded biochemistry or chemical biology-focused research program; mentoring and supervising undergraduate and graduate research students; and teaching biochemistry courses and additional courses aligned with the candidate's expertise, which may include areas relevant to toxicological, forensic, or physical biochemistry. The successful candidate will support the department's ACS-certified B.S. in Chemistry, B.S. in Forensic Chemistry, and M.S. in Chemistry programs through teaching, research, and service.

Educational Requirements for the Position

Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or Chemistry.

Experience Required for the Position

Biochemist or chemical biologist with a record of or potential for scholarly publication and demonstrated potential for establishing an independent research program. Postdoctoral research experience is preferred.

Other Requirements for the Position

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position will begin Fall 2026.
