Title: Principal Data Engineer

Work Location: Telecommute

Work Hours: 9am-5pm day

Description:

Top 5-10 responsibilities for this position:

• Analyze and present statistical information.
• Work with database management and monitoring software.
• Modeling the data landscape to analyze the alignment of business capabilities with delivered technology and IT solutions.
• Analyzing the current database technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and collaborating with Enterprise Architecture from other lines of business and development team architects to recommend solutions for improvement.
• Communicating the value delivered by the data Architecture process by communicating outcomes and ongoing results.
• Defining the principles that guide technology decisions for the segment.
• Assisting with the data governance activities associated with ensuring Enterprise Technology Architecture compliance.
• Closely work with ETL and Data Warehouse teams.
• Facilitating change and process improvement within the architecture community
• Demonstrated ability to establish repeatable processes, best practices and implement version control software in a team environment.

Ideal candidate background:

- Healthcare experience is preferred.

Skills/attributes are required:

• 10+ years of data architecture experience.
• 10+ years of experience working with MSSQL Server Database.
• 8+ years of experience with MSSQL Server features including SQL Always-On Availability Groups, SQL Replication, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SQL Server Performance Tuning, SQL Profiler, and Query Store.
• 6+ years of experience with MSSQL Server monitoring tools like SQL Sentry.
• 6+ years of designing, implementing, and maintaining an Enterprise Data Warehouse and BI solution for a large enterprise.
• 6+ years of experience in data analytics, data/canonical modelling, performance turning, and ETL tools.
• 6+ years of experience creating and reviewing database schema, reviewing query joins, working with structure and unstructured data, working with relational and multi-dimensional platforms.
• 4+ years of experience with data governance, creating data dictionary and master data management and reference data model.
• 4+ years of experience with software engineering and product development tools including Agile, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, DevOps etc.

Skills/attributes are preferred:

• Health care IT industry experience.
• Azure Cloud experience. Azure SQL Databases, Running SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Microsoft Certifications in Azure Data Fundamentals and Data Engineering.
• Demonstrated collaboration skills and techniques to create innovative market leading solutions.
• Demonstrated time management, communication, decision making, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to understand how to navigate in a complex organization and understand the big picture.
