Construction Estimator – Commercial

Location: Houston, TX

A well-established Commercial General Contractor in Houston is looking to add an Estimator to their preconstruction team. This contractor specializes in ground-up commercial construction across K-12, Higher Education, Religious, and Medical sectors and has a strong, long-term pipeline of work.

This role requires an Estimator who is comfortable handling projects from conceptual estimating through hard bid, and who can also run projects through buyout once awarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, schematic, and hard-bid estimates for ground-up commercial projects
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Solicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor bids
• Work closely with operations teams to transition projects from preconstruction to construction
• Handle buyout and scope reviews to ensure accurate project handoff
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving strategies

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Estimator for a Commercial General Contractor
• Experience estimating ground-up commercial projects (K-12, education, religious, or medical preferred)
• Ability to manage projects from concept through bid and buyout
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods
• Stable work history with good tenure – this client values long-term commitment
• Houston-based or willing to work locally
