Description

The Material Processor performs tasks involved in the distributing of materials, parts, supplies, equipment and other duties as required in a manufacturing atmosphere.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Ability to receive / read, and understand specific instructions, and follow specific instructions to completion.
• Ability to understand written work instructions, as well as design intent conveyed in basic shop drawings.
• Ability to read and operate a tape measure, square, and angle finder.
• Knowledge & Use of common power / hand tools and their safe operation.
• Knowledge & Use of common industrial processing tools / types:

1. * Band saw
2. * Table saw
3. * Up-cut saw
4. * Miter saw / Radial Arm Saw

• Additional knowledge of industrial processing tools / types desired but not required: up-cut saw, shear, press brake, and ironworker/sunrise - notching and punching
• Knowledge and experience processing different material types and grades, i.e., carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum (6061 / 5052, etc.).

Additional Responsibilities and Duties:

• *Familiarize, understand, and use all standard operating procedures determined by manufacturer and FlexDecks, Inc. in relation to raw metals (carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum (6061 / 5052) material processing equipment.
• *Interpret dimensions, material types, and material grades on cut lists or drawings.
• *May use up-cut saw, shear, press brake, and ironworker/sunrise - to perform notching and punching
• *Move raw metals material up to 30 lbs. by hand or utilize overhead crane to maneuver larger sheets of material in position to be cut.
• *Ensure that product standards, both quality and quantity are met.
• *Apply all safety measures when working in the shop and with machines/ hand tools.
• *Familiarize and understand all FlexDecks, Inc. employment policies such as work hours / days, drug screening, safety guidelines, and all policies outlining employee behavior on shop floor.
• *Maintain a positive attitude and further develop and maintain a cohesive team-oriented work environment with all employees, vendors, customers and support the company in all decisions.
• *Other tasks as requested

• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
• One plus (1+) years in relevant area- construction, material handling, mechanical, and/or machining experience. Specifically, processing materials (metals / woods / ceramics / plastics) by mechanical / machine means.
• Veteran/Military experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Willing to undergo drug/alcohol and background screens in accordance with local laws and regulations.
• United States Work Authorization Required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Performance of duties for this job requires
• work in an open machine & fabrication shop production area. Will work with and around moving machinery, including but not limited to forklifts and over-head cranes. Will be exposed to dirt/dust, fumes/odors. Noise levels range from moderate to loud but tolerable
• Position requires work in temperatures, as well as humidity, that fluctuate in accordance with the season. Must be able to work in the elements and inclement weather conditions.
• Appropriate Personal Protection Equipment is required in all fabrication shop areas including but not limited to Hearing, Eye Protection, Hard Hat and Safety Shoes.
• Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time as well as, sit, kneel, crouch, stoop & crawl. Walking for long distances & ascend/descend stairs is required within the office and shop areas.
• This position requires turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, waist, legs, wrists, fingers, as well as functional hearing, vision, and voice (English).
• This position also requires ability to safely lift and handle up to 50-80 lbs.
