What role you will play in our team

  • Champion NMR spectroscopy technologies and its advanced applications for R&D and business.
  • Solve problems in energy industry using advanced NMR spectroscopy techniques.
  • Assist research programs involving the molecular characterization of compounds using 1D & 2D multinuclear NMR spectroscopy techniques.
  • Operate and maintain liquids and/or solids NMR spectrometers. Includes troubleshooting instruments, optimizing experimental parameters and filling magnets with cryogens.
  • Prepare samples for Analysis. Includes dissolving samples in appropriate NMR solvent for liquids NMR and packing solids in NMR rotors for solid state NMR.
  • Sample analysis may include but is not limited to: hydrocarbons, polymers, catalysts, crude oil.

About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • Possess a B.S. with 5 years' experience or M.S. degree in chemistry or related field.
  • Prior experience with 1D and 2D multinuclear NMR techniques, including analyses, data processing and instrument maintenance.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow proper lab procedures.
  • Willingness to be involved in research that is highly exploratory in nature and may support programs within division and affiliate organizations.
  • Good communication skills for understanding and describing scientific observations, experimental plans and results, equipment and material design concepts.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tasks and integrate them into workflows.
  • Organized, punctual, and takes full responsibility for laboratory procedural compliance and safe laboratory operations including equipment maintenance, chemical and supply ordering, chemical inventory, safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
  • Effective in a team working environment, enjoys challenges, and committed to lifelong learning.

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Experience with both liquids and solids NMR techniques is a plus.
  • Experience specifically with Bruker NMR spectrometers, TopSpin and MNova processing software is a plus.
