Description:

Manual Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to fabricate, repair, or modify metal parts and components according to precise specifications and blueprints. The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining manual shop equipment to ensure accuracy, quality, and safety throughout the machining processes. You will primarily operate a manual lathe but will also need to use a drill press, bandsaw, and rigid threading machine.

Essential skills include:

  • 3+ years of manual machining experience.
  • Proficiency in operating a manual lathe, drill press, and bandsaw.
  • Experience in machining carbon steel and stainless steel.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on machines.

Work environment:

Work hours are from 7 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed. Current working hours range from 50 to 60 hours per week.

Job type & location:

This is a contract to hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
