Volt is immediately hiring a Melt and Pour in Houston, TX 77039

SUMMARY

Work as part of a crew, melting and pouring aluminum into sand molds to produce quality aluminum castings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain all furnace crucibles and ladles in good working condition.
• Melt aluminum in tilt, pit, or dip out gas fired furnaces maintaining correct pouring temperatures.
• Maintain correct scrap to ingot ratio.
• Maintain production and heat reports.
• Use proper pouring techniques.
• Apply weight on top of mold prior to pouring.
• Perform job function wearing proper PPE as designated by the company.
• Able to safely and correctly operate hand and power tools and machinery, including forklifts, semi-automated material handling equipment, and overhead cranes.
• Participate in training and continuing education.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Work overtime as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED or, relevant work experience.
• Able to lift parts weighing in excess of 50 pounds (assistance when needed) and to work in a bending, standing, or squatting positions for long periods of time (excess of one hour).
• Effective communication skills: verbal and written.
• Follow written and/or oral instructions in English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge of Aluminum Melting Furnaces and related equipment.
• Knowledge of safe and proper pouring techniques.
• Pass forklift certifications and requirements to operate forklifts.

Pay Range:? $15.00/hr. - $16.00/hr.
