* Knowledge of turf and landscape maintenance equipment.
* Knowledge of equipment maintenance.
* Knowledge of irrigation systems.
* Knowledge of safety standards associated and best management practices.
* Proficient with landscape maintenance small engine equipment: line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, push mowers, chainsaws.
* Proficient with riding mowers and zero turn mowers.
* Ability to assess landscape conditions, troubleshoot equipment, and solve problems efficiently.
* Ability to communicate verbally and receive instructions that may require duties to be
completed individually or as part of a team.
* Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. alone.
* Ability to perform strenuous physical duties outdoors in various weather conditions, including walking distances.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of PPE.
* Plant Identification.
* Pesticide/Application Knowledge.
Job Description
The Grounds Maintenance Worker II is responsible for providing attractive, safe, and well-maintained grounds on the Round Rock campus.
Job Duties
* Police assigned areas, empty trash containers, sweep or blow walkways; parking lots, removal of leaves and debris.
* Maintain turf areas by mowing, with push mower or riding mower; maintain equipment.
* Maintain irrigation system, making necessary repairs and adhering to mandated watering restrictions as presented by governing authorities.
* Maintain flowers, shrubs, groundcover beds, trees, and may plant and transplant material; planting seasonal color, assisting with mulch dispersal.
* Maintain trees, including pruning and chipping limbs.
* May assist in cleanups on campus for special events.
* May assist in spreading sand and de-ice agents during bad or inclement weather.
* Use a computer and work phone to monitor and address AIM work orders and SAP
entries.
* Other duties as assigned.
