As Director of Facilities Management, you will plan, organize, expedite, and coordinate activities affecting the quality of life, safety, and service provided to patients, staff, and visitors of Houston Northwest Medical Center. Responsible for directing Maintenance, Communications, Biomedical Engineering and Security.

What you will do in the role:

• Evaluates workmanship and products used for in-house special projects, outside general contractors and all others pertaining to discipline.
• Review and advise on structural changes, additions, or modifications to facility. Coordinate completion of additions, modifications, and building projects, in house, and contracted. Research and act as liaison to building contractors
• Inspect building consistently and initiate responsible departments to correct safety hazards, improve, and/or meet quality standards, ensure speedy repair and monitor preventive maintenance in all departments.
• Evaluates annual maintenance agreements for Plant Operation departments to ensure pricing is cost effective.
• Monitor monthly utility costs. Research and pursue repair, replacement, and necessary upgrades of hospital systems: air/heating, plumbing, communications, fire, alarms, etc.
• Able to present new and original ideas. Exercises good judgement regarding what, how and when to make major changes. Encourages and facilitates effective brainstorming.
• Collects sufficient information to make timely and effective decisions. Does not succumb to "analysis paralysis". Consults with appropriate subordinates, peers, and senior managers before making decisions. Does not procrastinate when making difficult decisions.

What qualifications you will need:

• Associates degree preferred
• 3+ years health care facility management/plant ops experience
