Position Overview:
Under general supervision, the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Community Engagement Coordinator serves as a community liaison to help people living with HIV navigate resources. The individual in this position is responsible for maintaining community partnerships, conducting outreach strategies, and coordinating engagement efforts related to the EHE initiative. The position also serves as a liaison between Ryan White Grant Administration and community stakeholders to increase awareness of EHE-funded services, while fostering collaboration and feedback to enhance program impact.
The Community Engagement Coordinator must possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse communities, foster collaboration, and effectively report program outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Community Liaison: Builds and maintains partnerships with community-based organizations, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), non-profits, civic groups, impacted communities, and other stakeholders to increase awareness and visibility of EHE-funded programs and services. Serves as the primary point of contact for community engagement efforts, ensuring subrecipients, local leaders, community-based organizations, impacted communities, and other relevant stakeholders remain actively informed and involved in EHE implementation activities.
* Community Engagement: Participates in the planning, development, and execution of community engagement strategies, initiatives, events, and outreach activities that promote EHE-funded services, advance program goals, and gather community feedback.
* Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitors, tracks, and evaluates engagement efforts, preparing reports and statistical analyses to assess community reach and inform ongoing program improvements. In addition, conducts evaluations of community engagement activities using performance measures and timelines, and select appropriate methods, tools, and procedures to assess effectiveness.
* Reporting: Maintains accurate stakeholder databases and reporting systems, prepares and delivers presentations to community and advocacy groups to promote EHE-funded services, goals, and progress, and presents findings and recommendations to leadership.
* Technical and Strategic Support: Provides technical assistance and strategic guidance to HCPH communications teams and EHE-funded Subrecipients on messaging, outreach, and engagement strategies that align with EHE program priorities.

Requirements
Education:
* High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
* At least three (3) years of experience with Community Engagement, Public Affairs/Community Relations/Outreach, and/or Communications or Related Field
Certifications/Licenses
* Current Texas Driver's License (upon hire)

General Information
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
* This is a Full-Time and Grant-Funded position.
* Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5 pm.
* This position requires availability to work evenings and weekends to attend community events and meetings, as necessary.
Work Environment:
* This position operates in a professional office and community environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
* The position is community facing requiring the ability to travel throughout Harris County and the surrounding areas with some desk work. In addition, the position requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand, bend, and/or sit for extended periods of time.

* Harris County Public Health: Community Health & Wellness Division - 1111 Fannin St. Houston, Texas. 77002.
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
