JOB SUMMARY
The Janitor will ensure the buildings are tidy, clean and well-maintained.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Comply with company Safety Policies and Procedures
* Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors
* Waxing furniture and cleaning fixtures
* Disposing of trash and emptying trash receptacles
* Performing minor repairs
* Keeping buildings free from indoor pests
* Maintaining cleaning equipment
* Maintaining inventory of cleaning agents and equipment
* Ensuring equipment and lights are switched off, and premises are locked after hours
* Collaborating with contract cleaning services
* Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Proficient knowledge of cleaning equipment and agents
* Ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Proficient with handling basic maintenance repairs
* Physically agile and dexterous
* Available to work after hours.
* Resilient to cleaning agents and chemicals.
* Outstanding organizational skills
* Basic mathematical skills
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
* No minimum education requirement
* No prior experience or training required.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
* Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable.
* Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out.
* Prolong standing or in stationary position for 10 hours per day.
* Complete repetitive movements.
* Bend and/or twist.
* Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds.
* Pull and push a cleaning cart up to 20 pounds.
* Ability to move or traverse about the facilities.
* Walking around the facility for long periods of time, average walking of 10 hours per day with 3 breaks of 15 minutes and 1 break of 30 minutes.
* Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions.
* Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision protection)
