Job Title: Custodial Service Trainer Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt

Primary Purpose:
Train custodial services personnel; evaluate the quality of custodial services throughout the district; supervise custodial staff on district cleaning policies. Establish cleaning schedule and procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of all facilities.

Special Knowledge:
Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, chemicals, and safety procedures.
Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building maintenance.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies and chemicals.
Knowledge of equipment, chemicals, and materials used in cleaning processes
Ability to instruct and train custodial staff
Experience:
5 years' experience as a custodian
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Provide training and orientation to all MISD employees
* Plan, organize, and oversee cleaning program for the district
* Develop and implement new training programs for the district custodial staff; conduct custodial services training for new employees.
* Assist in the evaluation of the performance of assigned custodial personnel as requested by the Director and Assistant Director of custodial services.
* Assist in proper use and procedures of cleaning chemicals.
* Assist with the evaluation of the quality of custodial personnel during the training process.
* Evaluate the quality of custodial cleanliness of each facility in accordance with established procedures.
* Evaluate and help with custodial equipment, cleaning chemicals, and custodial supplies within the district.
* Instruct assigned personnel on proper and safe use of equipment and chemicals
* Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
* Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to management immediately
* Perform other duties as assigned
Equipment Used:
Buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, shampooer, RA-40 boost machine, vacuum, floor fans, etc.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Frequent walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, and ladders. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials. Frequent district wide travel.
