Job Details

The Building Maintenance Provides general and detailed maintenance (either with direct or indirect supervision), including patching, painting, hardware repairs, and other repairs/replacement work as required. Performs routine facility and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Performing maintenance on HVAC (i.e. changing air filters, belts, grease).
• Keeping documents of inspections and problems.
• Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing, and welding.
• Performing overall building maintenance including painting, lighting, installing equipment, fixing ceiling tiles, and flooring.
• Proactively identifying maintenance issues and finding the best solutions to address issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Requires a complete understanding of all machinery including operating adjustments, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
• Minimum age: 18
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

• HVAC certification preferred but not required.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED, or 2-3 years of relevant experience in facility maintenance.

Physical Demand/Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work in variable weather conditions
• Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move, and handle equipment.
• Must be able to lift, carry, lower 1-45lbs, and occasionally 45-90lbs using equipment.
• Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking.
• Must be able to climb high altitudes on ladders.
• Must be able to work in extreme both very hot (more than 100 degrees) and very cold (less than 20 degrees below zero) and in a very wet and humid environment for extended periods of time. Exposed to noise/vibration, and chemicals.
• Required to Stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, push and pull, and reach above and below the shoulder.
• Repetition-Hand/Wrist Simple Grasping, Firm grasping.
