Pride Health is hiring a Sterile Processing Technologist to support our client's medical facility based in Houston, TX 77025. This is a 9-week assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Name: Sterile Processing Technologist

Location: Houston, TX 77025

Duration: 9-week Contract (Possibilities of extension)

Payrate: $20-23/hr. on w2/Pay Rate is based on experience.

Schedule: Mon – Fri (5 days/wk.)/ Various start times based on the needs of the department.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Adheres to AAMI ST79, AORN, and manufacturer IFU guidelines for proper instrument cleaning and sterilization.
2. Applies aseptic technique, universal precautions, and proper PPE in all decontamination and processing tasks.
3. Inspects instruments/equipment for damage, malfunction, or bioburden prior to sterilization.
4. Demonstrates proficiency with a wide range of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterilization methods.
5. Maintains, cleans, and operates CSPD equipment (autoclave, washer-decontaminator, ultrasonic, Steris, etc.).
6. Ensures adequate inventory levels and coordinates timely instrument repairs or replacements.
7. Maintains a clean, organized work environment and completes all required sterilization documentation.
8. Collaborates with clinical staff to support surgical procedures, emergency needs, and supply management.
9. Provides professional, courteous customer service and maintains confidentiality.
10. Reports inefficiencies, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences to appropriate leadership.
11. Assists with training, orienting, and supporting new or transitioning staff.
12. Complies with all regulatory standards (CDC, AORN, AAMI, state/federal rules) and reports incidents within required timeframes.

Qualifications:

• Highschool/GED or equivalent.
• Current, CSPD technician certification.
• Current, BLS Certification.
• Two years of experience as a sterile processing technician. (preferred)
