Accounting Bookkeeper

Description:

Position Summary:

The Bookkeeper supports the accounting and finance functions by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting and reconciliations. This position also provides administrative assistance to the Controller, helping ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

  • Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and verify accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain accurate ledgers and subsidiary accounts in accordance with company policies.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and statements as directed by the Controller.
  • Monitor and maintain vendor records and ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Reconcile credit card statements and employee expense reports.
  • Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper coding and approval.
  • Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts to verify accuracy prior to payment.
  • Maintain vendor records, W-9 forms, and ensure compliance with company and tax requirements.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve billing discrepancies or payment inquiries.
  • Support the Controller in managing AP aging reports and cash flow forecasting related to payables.
  • Provide administrative support to the Controller, including data entry, filing, and document organization.
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide requested documentation.
  • Maintain confidential financial and personnel files.
  • Support special projects and process improvements as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping and accounts payable experience required.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
