Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Key Responsibilities on Incoming Orders
• Examine incoming orders
o Make record of any damaged parts on purchase order/packing slip
o Verify parts are accounted for against purchase order/packing slip
o Stamp packing slip
• Once order is verified, a job packet will be created
Key Responsibilities on Outgoing Orders
• Prepare order to be shipped
o Polish parts
o Verify parts against delivery ticket to ensure order is correct
o Shrink wrap pallet
o Have driver sign delivery ticket showing proof of delivery
Accountabilities:
• Must greet all arriving and departing customers/freight line operators with professional courtesy
• Must report any damage or deviation between arriving shipments and corresponding documentation prior to shipping company leaving the premises
• Must report any damaged or deviation between departing shipments and corresponding documentation prior to return shipping back to customer
• Must insure that receiving documentation match the arriving shipment in both part description and quantity
• Shipping clerks will insure that each departing pallet, crate, or box containing customer parts will be tagged with a packing list containing the corresponding delivery ticket documentation
• Must be able to operate a forklift
• Must be able to operate both overhead and jib cranes
• Must possess organizational and communication skills to insure proper receiving and shipping of parts
• Must be able to operate small hand tools to clean, detail, and palletize parts prior to shipping
Qualifications:
• Must have a minimum of one year experience in warehouse shipping/receiving
• Trainee should have a completed high school education or GED equivalent. Trainee shall be trained by an in house instructor for a minimum of 4 weeks and it is up to the instructor to judge when the trainee is ready to perform their duties without supervision
