Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Surgical Coordinator with recent medical office and customer service experience for our Humble location.

The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience while checking patient in & out, building relationships with our patients, and ensuring we have all need information for their visit. The ideal candidate will bring excellent customer service skills, credibility and high integrity, coupled with an excellent work ethic.

The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for:

  1. Establish positive relationships representative of MEI's philosophy of care with surgical patients, family members, referring doctors, and all MEI doctors and staff associated with the daily care of surgical patients
  2. Work with the Surgical Coordinator in Humble on the surgical schedule for Humble each week
  3. Verify all required paperwork is completed prior to day of surgery
  4. Confirm patient arrival time one day prior to scheduled procedure (ASC)
  5. Audit and prepare charts for surgery
  6. Handle rescheduling of cataract surgery
  7. Communicate to each office missed protocol for cataract surgery
  8. Collecting and processing payments
  9. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years in medical office or guest-oriented environment
  • Insurance Knowledge (co-pay, deductible, referrals)
  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • Microsoft demonstrate great attention to detail
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines
  • Reliable
