This is a hybrid position located in Jackson, MS, Little Rock, AR, New Orleans, LA or The Woodlands, TX. Relocation assistance and sponsorship is not provided. The official title will be IT Specialist I, II, Sr or IT Consultant depending on selected candidates years of experience.
This position provides support and expertise for real time specific applications for the IT Power Delivery Services business unit. One of the primary responsibilities for this position is the maintenance and support of the IEDMS (Intelligent Electronic Device Management System) application and its database and the support and troubleshooting of the Transmission substation RTUs (Remote Terminal Units) and connected grid protection devices. The RTUs collect telemetry information for the Transmission substations and overall power grid which is then transported to Entergy's real time energy management systems. This includes working with the appropriate teams from both IT and Transmission to troubleshoot communications from the RTUs back to the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system host. The other primary role of the Transmission Remote Access group is to ensure CIP compliance across the Entergy Transmission Grid in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by NERC and FERC.
