About the job Grinder

Grinding operator assists the Grinding group with grinding of fittings, joint restraints, and other items as needed. This position is accountable for maintaining a safe, efficient, and accurate grinding /warehouse operation for the best possible service for the customer and with coworkers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Has product inspected for accuracy and quality.
• Packages products at standards required.
• Must wear proper PPE while in Griding booth area
• Must wear goggles while working in the grinding area
• Sweeps floors; operates the floor scrubber
• Must be able to wear a respirator for extended periods of time
• Collects and disposes of trash from Grinding booths, warehouse, and yard
• Inspects bins, equipment, and warehouse for safety; takes appropriate safety precautions, and wears proper personal protective equipment.
• Communicates issues such as equipment damage, incidents, safety concerns, etc., to management.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of experience completing warehouse tasks

• 1-3 years of grinding experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

• Able to lift, move up, and carry materials up to 50 pounds on a constant basis.
• Will be required to reach, stand, walk, or crouch during a 10-hour shift
• Must be able to be on feet continuously during a 10-hour shift
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently during a 10-hour shift
• Must be able to climb 4 feet onto and off of a fork truck repetitively during a 10-hour shift
• Must be able to kneel and bend at the knees frequently during a 10-hour shift
• Must be able to push and pull 300 lbs. with a pallet jack frequently during a 10-hour shift
• Must be able to use wrist and hands frequently during a 10-hour shift

• Able to work in various climate conditions
• Overtime and weekend work may occasionally be required
• Some Saturdays will be mandatory when needed to accommodate the business needs
