The Group Director, Ethics & Compliance will provide leadership and direction for an industry-leading ethics and compliance (E&C) program that promotes a culture of integrity and ethical conduct aligned to our Principles and Behaviors, and manages E&C risks for Worley. This role can be based in any of our major office locations globally.
Responsibilities
- Strategy and Culture
- Develop, lead, and ensure execution of Worley's E&C strategy, driving adoption across regions and business units.
- Foster an ethical culture across Worley, inspiring leaders to champion a safe, respectful, and values-driven workplace.
- Promote understanding and consistent application of the Code of Conduct at all levels of the organization.
- Foster a ‘Speak up' culture with accessible, trusted mechanisms, supported by timely investigations and resolutions.
- Leadership and Governance
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Senior Leaders, the Group Executive, and Board Members on complex E&C matters.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the Executive Group based on internal insights, global trends, and best practices.
- Monitor the global E&C Program and report on key metrics, trends, and emerging risks to provide actionable insights to the Executive Group and the Board.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a global E&C team of approximately 20 professionals across multiple levels and geographies.
- Ensure the team provides industry-leading guidance and support across a wide range of E&C matters.
- Tools and Enablement
- Design, implement, and continuously improve toolkits and resources that promote a safe and ethical working environment.
- Oversee E&C training design, deployment, and effectiveness to ensure understanding and application of key policies and Worley values and behaviors.
- Lead identification and promotion of best practices to embed compliance in day-to-day operations.
- Risk Management
- Lead E&C risk assessments during pre-contract phases in collaboration with Operations, focusing on sanctions, third-party due diligence, fraud, corruption, integrity, and assurance.
- Guide risk treatment strategies and collaborate on human rights assessments to embed ethical considerations in project planning and delivery.
What You Will Bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
- Typically, 15+ years of relevant experience, with significant management experience.
- Strong understanding of ethical practices and related laws, plus excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential. Proficiency with software applications is also needed.
- Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources to derive answers and solve problems; translate corporate goals to operational goals and oversee implementation across the organization.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to present complex proposals to executive management. Collaborative, multi-cultural leadership experience.
- Understanding of and adherence to Worley's Code of Conduct and values; ability to lead strategic development of new systems, processes and tools.
- Ability to manage day-to-day challenges, timelines, and stakeholders across global time zones; strong ownership and mentoring skills.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
- University degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
