Job Summary

The Director, Policies and Procedures works under the direction of Harris Health Systems Executive Vice President, Chief Compliance and Risk Officer. This position is responsible for directing and assisting Harris Health regarding documentation standardization, management, and all associated initiatives and supporting process analysis and development. The duties performed by this position impact and support the organization's accreditation and regulatory compliance, both clinical and non-clinical operations, and clinical practice. This position will work directly with Senior Executive Leadership, Medical Staff, Corporate Compliance, Accreditation, the Harris County Attorney's Office, and other personnel in the organization in the performance of assigned duties. This position ensures organizational documentation standardization is in compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, including, but are not limited to DNV Accreditation Standards, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Guidelines, Texas Department of Health and Human Services regulations, state law, and other regulatory and accrediting bodies, i.e., Cancer Registry, Stroke Center Certification, Trauma Center Certification, etc.

Degrees

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Technical Communications, English, Journalism, Business, or related field required.

Masters degree MBA, MHA, MPH, JD, or similar degree preferred.

Work Experience: Seven (7) years work experience in the development of policies, procedures, or similar documents, including technical writing experience.

Management Experience: Five (5) years of management experience in policies, procedures, or similar documents; project management; performance improvement.

Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact), Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking), Writing / Correspondence, Writing / Reports

Proficiencies: MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word, Personal Computer, Typing
