Job DescriptionHBK Engineering is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with PE License to oversee the technical execution of projects within a team of engineers and designers, focusing on structural and geotechnical utility infrastructure designs to support HBK's rapidly expanding service offerings across power, renewables, telecom, gas, and municipal engineering sectors. The ideal candidate will drive client success through project execution, contributing to the growth and excellence of our organization.Within the HBK Organization, the Senior Structural Engineer will provide technical oversight and day-to-day management for structural and geotechnical engineering projects. This role requires a deep understanding of the technical aspects of our work, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.Our Structural Team's service offerings include but are not limited to design of permanent and temporary structures such as poles, manholes, vaults, earth retention systems, foundations, and onsite evaluations of transmission towers, manholes, vaults, and tunnels. Join us in rising to future challenges.Responsibilities Lead challenging engineering assignments, including troubleshooting and solving design issues.Prepare technical memos, reports, specifications, and documentation.Interpret drawings, calculations, schematics, and reports.Apply engineering theories and analysis to structural and geotechnical designs.Work on various structures and foundations, including earth retention systems.Conduct structural investigations, inspections, and analyses.Perform conceptual and value engineering with a focus on constructability.Stamp and seal drawings as engineer-of-record when required.Project Execution & Quality Assurance Ensure high-quality deliverables.Identify risks and support mitigation strategies.Assist in project planning to meet scope and schedule.Coordinate with other departments to align activities.Ensure client deliverables meet standards.Leadership & Team Management Lead project teams including engineers, designers, and field personnel.Mentor and coach team members, maintaining high morale.Ensure clear communication of engineering deliverables.Client Relations Maintain and grow client relationships.Lead engineering proposals.Share project successes and feedback internally.Qualifications B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis on civil/structural/geotechnical engineering.10+ years of relevant experience.PE license in Texas or ability to obtain via reciprocity.Skills & Experience Knowledge of industry codes (AISC, ASCE, UBC, IBC).Strong communication skills.Leadership experience.Ability to travel.Preferred Consulting background.Proficiency in MS Office and Deltek system.Location & Compensation Primary location in Houston, TX, with other options.
