Position Overview

HDR Engineering is seeking a Civil/Senior Site Civil Engineer to join one of the largest and fastest-growing TMT (Tech, Media, and Telecom) practices in the industry.

Preferred locations include: Atlanta, Austin, Bellevue, Charlotte, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Newark, New York, Omaha, Orlando, Pennington, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Sacramento/Folsom, San Antonio, Walnut Creek.

This role involves working within an integrated team responsible for designing facility-related sites supporting Data Centers and other Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure. The candidate should have experience in site development, civil site design (grading, utilities, storm drainage, stormwater management, erosion control), and be self-motivated, collaborative, and possess strong leadership skills to deliver high-quality civil site designs.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct early project development activities such as site selection, due diligence, and planning
  • Design and produce plans for civil activities including site layouts, grading, drainage, paving, and utilities
  • Perform quantity calculations and permitting submissions
  • Exercise judgment in complex assignments, providing technical expertise as needed
  • Plan and develop projects impacting major company programs
  • Supervise work of professionals and technicians
  • Prepare and review scope of work, budgets, and estimates
  • Perform other related duties
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Bluebeam Revu
  • Experience with architectural/engineering consulting firms
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
  • PE license
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication
